Join AbbVie as a Scientist I in the Discovery Immunology department, located in North Chicago, Lake County. In this full-time position, you'll conduct nonhuman primate pharmacology research to support the development of innovative immunology therapeutics.

Role Overview

This laboratory-focused role sits within AbbVie's Discovery Immunology team, specifically the Nonhuman Primate (NHP) In Vivo Pharmacology group. You'll create and optimize cell-based and animal models using nonhuman primates to test compounds and inform drug discovery decisions in immunology. This is a hands-on scientific position where you'll engage directly in bench-top work, data analysis, and collaborative research that moves molecules toward clinical development.

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute pharmacology studies using nonhuman primate in vitro and in vivo systems
• Perform cell biology assays and experiments to characterize immunology compounds
• Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data from laboratory studies
• Prepare scientific documentation and communicate findings to research collaborators
• Work alongside discovery teams to align pharmacology results with drug development strategy
• Maintain equipment, organize protocols, and uphold laboratory quality standards

Who We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in biology, cell biology, life sciences, or closely related discipline (Master's or Ph.D. strongly preferred)
• Practical laboratory experience in cell biology, pharmacology, immunology, or animal model work
• Competence with standard laboratory techniques and analytical instrumentation
• Logical thinking and ability to troubleshoot experimental problems
• Ability to document work clearly and discuss scientific findings effectively
• Collaborative approach and capacity to work both independently and within a team
