PT Safety Support Associate – Los Feliz – Riverside Families (5614)

PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) is hiring a Part-Time Safety Support Associate for our Riverside Families interim housing site in Los Feliz, Los Angeles County. This role is essential to maintaining secure, welcoming living environments where unhoused residents can stabilize and access supportive services.

About the Role

As our Safety Support Associate, you'll work Sundays and Mondays, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, ensuring program participants and staff remain safe while respecting low-barrier housing principles. You'll monitor facilities, build connections with residents to foster shared responsibility for safety, respond to crises with de-escalation and non-violent intervention, and document concerns. You'll coordinate with case management and security partners to create an environment where people can move toward permanent housing.

What You'll Do

• Inspect interim housing facilities and grounds regularly, documenting safety observations
• Engage residents to promote community responsibility and safety participation
• Partner with case managers and security staff on facility security
• Apply verbal de-escalation and nonviolent crisis intervention techniques
• Prepare incident reports and safety documentation
• Attend team meetings and contribute to operational improvements

Experience and Qualifications

One year of experience with vulnerable populations, security, or de-escalation and nonviolent crisis intervention is preferred. Candidates at any experience level are welcome to apply. All candidates must verify US employment eligibility, complete or obtain CPR/First Aid certification, and pass a tuberculosis test, background screening, and drug screening.

Compensation and Benefits
