Dollar General is hiring an Assistant Store Manager for our Ferrellsburg location in Lincoln County, West Virginia. This is a full-time position where you'll support store operations and lead our team in delivering excellent service to customers in our community.

About the Role

As Assistant Store Manager at this Dollar General store, you'll partner with the Store Manager to oversee daily operations, supervise team members, and ensure customers receive great service. You'll be hands-on across all aspects of store management—from the sales floor to the stockroom—helping maintain our store as a valued neighborhood destination.

What You'll Do

• Lead and train store associates, modeling customer service excellence and company standards
• Execute opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, safe operations, and security checks
• Monitor and manage inventory, coordinate stock deliveries, and ensure proper product placement and rotation
• Operate point-of-sale systems and address customer questions or concerns with solutions
• Maintain store cleanliness, visual standards, and organized merchandise displays
• Support the Store Manager with scheduling, associate performance, and staff development
• Ensure compliance with company policies, loss prevention protocols, and operational guidelines
• Contribute to sales performance and store profitability through efficient management

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required
• 1–2 years of retail, customer service, or supervisory experience preferred
• Proven leadership and ability to motivate a diverse team
• Strong math skills and comfort with cash handling and basic accounting
• Clear communication and problem-solving abilities
• Customer-focused mindset with reliable, dependable work habits
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Physical capability to stand extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
