College of Southern Idaho seeks a dedicated Fine Arts Technology Coordinator to manage the technical operations of our performing arts facilities in Twin Falls. This full-time position ensures every campus performance, event, and production runs smoothly by overseeing the audio, visual, lighting, and stage systems that bring our artistic vision to life.
About the Role
The Fine Arts Technology Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the college's performing arts mission. You'll be the technical expert behind the scenes, responsible for all aspects of equipment operation, maintenance, and support across our auditorium, theatre, and related venues. Your work directly impacts the quality and success of concerts, theatrical productions, lectures, and special events hosted on campus.
What You'll Do
- Operate, set up, and troubleshoot audio/visual equipment for live performances and campus events
- Manage lighting systems, sound boards, and communications equipment during rehearsals and performances
- Maintain and inspect all technical assets to ensure safety, reliability, and optimal performance
- Supervise the proper use and storage of stage facilities and production equipment
- Coordinate technical requirements with performers, faculty, staff, and visiting artists
- Develop and maintain documentation for equipment operation and preventive maintenance schedules
- Train students and staff on safe and proper use of theatre and AV equipment
- Troubleshoot technical issues quickly to minimize disruptions during events
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience operating professional-grade lighting, sound, and audio/visual systems
- Background working in theatre, performing arts venues, or live event production
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to equipment safety and maintenance
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and adapt to changing event schedules
- Relevant certifications or formal training in AV technology or theatre technical operations preferred
