This full-time position places you at the center of our deposition practice, handling complex depositions that often determine case outcomes. Working under the guidance of experienced supervising attorneys, you'll develop expertise in client representation, witness examination, and strategic litigation work.
What You'll Do
- Conduct depositions—taking sworn testimony from witnesses, opposing parties, and expert witnesses
- Prepare thoroughly for depositions through case analysis and strategy development
- Question deponents effectively to elicit testimony supporting our clients' claims
- Review and analyze documents critical to case development
- Coordinate with clients and supervising attorneys on litigation strategy
- Maintain detailed records and transcripts of deposition proceedings
- Contribute to overall case preparation and legal research as needed
What We're Looking For
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Current admission to the Illinois bar or ability to obtain bar admission
- Strong oral advocacy and questioning skills—critical for effective depositions
- Excellent written communication abilities
- Meticulous attention to detail and procedural compliance
- Professional demeanor and integrity in all client interactions
- Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, clients, and legal professionals
- Dedication to representing clients injured and seeking justice
