General Manager (Salaried)

Carter's/OshKosh is hiring a General Manager to lead multiple store locations in Schererville, Lake County. In this full-time, salaried management position, you'll oversee store operations, develop your team, and deliver exceptional experiences to the families we serve.

What This Role Involves

As a General Manager, you'll manage daily operations across two or more Carter's/OshKosh stores in the Schererville area. You're the primary leader and strategic decision-maker for your locations—responsible for staff development, financial performance, and creating the welcoming brand experience families expect when celebrating milestones and shopping for their children.

Responsibilities

• Direct all operational and financial management across assigned store locations
• Recruit, train, and mentor store team members to consistently deliver strong customer service
• Oversee inventory control, visual merchandising, and store presentation in line with brand standards
• Drive revenue and profitability through strategic planning and execution
• Build and maintain a positive, productive workplace culture
• Uphold compliance with company policies and operational procedures
• Develop community relationships and strengthen local brand presence

Qualifications

• Proven experience in retail management, including multi-unit or multi-store responsibility
• Demonstrated competency with financial management, budgeting, and P&L accountability
• Strong leadership abilities and track record building and motivating teams
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Achievement-oriented with a focus on sales growth and business results
• Adaptability and problem-solving capability in a fast-changing retail environment
• Availability for flexible scheduling, including weekends and occasional evenings
