COOK (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)

Compass Group, North America is hiring immediately for Cook positions—both full-time and part-time—at our University of Florida dining facility in Gainesville, Alachua County. About the Role

You'll work in a large-scale food service environment at the Admin-Racquet Club Dining Center, preparing meals for the UF community. Available schedules include morning shifts, afternoon shifts, weekends, and on-call rotations; exact schedule details will be confirmed during your interview.

Your Responsibilities

• Prepare and plate meals following recipes and quality standards in a high-volume dining operation
• Execute knife work and food handling techniques with skill and safety awareness
• Manage a clean, organized station and follow all food safety protocols
• Coordinate meal preparation timing to keep service moving during peak hours
• Support fast-paced kitchen operations alongside your cooking team
• Take direction from kitchen supervisors and contribute collaboratively to service goals

What You Bring

• Hands-on cooking experience, including fast-food, institutional, or other commercial kitchen backgrounds
• Strong knife skills and proficiency with standard food service equipment
• Customer service orientation—you understand quality meals and reliable service matter
• Availability for scheduled shifts including mornings, afternoons, weekends, and on-call work
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to learning and growth within our kitchen
