About the Role
As part of a respected legal team, you will handle a variety of insurance defense matters, representing clients in litigation and working closely with partners to achieve favorable outcomes. This position offers the opportunity to develop deep expertise in claims defense while contributing to a collaborative firm culture.
What You'll Do
- Manage a caseload of insurance defense files from inception through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and appellate briefs
- Conduct legal research and analyze case law relevant to liability and coverage issues
- Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and attend hearings or trials as needed
- Negotiate settlements and mediate disputes with opposing counsel
- Maintain clear communication with clients, adjusters, and internal stakeholders
- Stay current on developments in insurance law and procedural rules
What We're Looking For
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active Texas bar admission
- 3–5 years of experience defending insurance claims, preferably in a law firm setting
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters independently while meeting deadlines
- Strong written and oral advocacy skills, with experience in motion practice and trial
- Proficiency with e‑discovery tools and legal research platforms
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Commitment to professional ethics and client‑focused service
