About the Role

As a Special Education Resource Teacher, you'll deliver evidence-based instruction and support to elementary students with individualized education programs (IEPs). Working under the direction of the Director of Special Education, you'll balance direct service delivery—whether through collaborative teaching, small-group instruction, or pullout sessions—with a strong focus on helping every learner achieve measurable progress toward their IEP goals.

What You'll Do

  • Teach reading, math, writing, and foundational skills to students identified for special education services
  • Co-teach alongside general education teachers to support inclusion and skill-building in core classrooms
  • Develop, implement, and monitor progress on IEP goals through data-driven instruction
  • Participate actively in IEP meetings and collaborate with families to communicate student progress and adjust supports as needed
  • Use formative and summative assessments to guide instructional decisions and interventions
  • Maintain detailed documentation and records to ensure compliance with IDEA and state special education regulations
  • Build positive relationships with students and contribute to an inclusive, supportive school community

What We're Looking For

  • Current Texas teaching certification in Special Education, Elementary Education, or a related field
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Strong knowledge of special education law, IEP requirements, and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, and colleagues
  • Experience with data tracking, progress monitoring, and differentiated instruction
  • Commitment to creating an equitable, respectful learning environment for all students
