About the Role
As a Sales Associate at our Port Allen Dollar General location, you'll be the welcoming face of our store, ensuring every customer finds what they need at our everyday low prices. You'll work in a fast-paced retail environment supporting our mission to make shopping convenient and affordable for our neighbors throughout West Baton Rouge Parish.
What You'll Do
- Provide friendly, attentive customer service and assist shoppers in locating products
- Operate point-of-sale systems accurately and efficiently
- Stock shelves with merchandise, maintaining organized displays and product availability
- Keep the store clean, safe, and organized throughout your shift
- Process transactions and handle cash with accuracy and integrity
- Support inventory management and communicate product needs to management
- Follow company policies and procedures to maintain a welcoming shopping environment
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work retail hours including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends
- Physical ability to lift, stand, and move throughout the store
- Retail or customer service experience is a plus
- Reliability, attention to detail, and a positive attitude
