Join Aldi's Legal team as a Corporate Counsel II specializing in Commercial Transactions. This is a full-time position based in Aurora, Kane County, where you'll support one of the nation's most dynamic retail growth stories from the legal side.
About the Role
Aldi is executing an ambitious expansion plan, adding 800 new locations by 2028 to reach nearly 3,200 stores across the United States. As a Corporate Counsel II focused on Commercial Transactions, you'll play a critical role in navigating the legal complexities that fuel this growth. You'll be part of a Legal team trusted with strategic direction and accountability for the full spectrum of legal matters that impact our business.
What You'll Do
- Lead and advise on commercial transaction matters, including contracts, negotiations, and deal structures essential to retail operations and expansion
- Partner with business units to provide proactive legal counsel on commercial agreements, vendor relationships, and transaction documentation
- Manage complex commercial transactions from inception through closing, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across finance, operations, real estate, and procurement to structure deals and resolve legal issues
- Maintain expertise in commercial law as it applies to retail operations and strategic growth initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Licensed attorney with a track record in commercial transaction law
- Experience negotiating and structuring commercial agreements in a corporate setting
- Strong understanding of retail or commercial business operations
- Excellent analytical, communication, and business judgment skills
- Ability to manage multiple transactions and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated experience advising at the counsel level or above
