Veterinary Technician – Inpatient Nursing – Overnights – PT

Pieper Veterinary in Barry Square, Hartford County is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Veterinary Technician for our overnight inpatient nursing team. About the Role

As a Veterinary Technician on our overnight shift, you'll be a vital member of our emergency and inpatient care operations. You'll work during evening and overnight hours, delivering hands-on nursing care to hospitalized animals while collaborating with veterinarians and fellow team members to ensure each patient receives the highest standard of medical attention.

What You'll Do

• Provide inpatient nursing care including vital monitoring, wound care, and medication administration under veterinary supervision
• Monitor patient recovery and comfort throughout your shift, documenting observations and updates in medical records
• Assist veterinarians during emergency procedures and surgical interventions
• Maintain sanitary conditions in patient care areas and sterilize instruments and equipment
• Communicate effectively with night shift colleagues and incoming day staff regarding patient status and care needs
• Provide compassionate handling and comfort to frightened or injured animals

What We're Looking For

• Current Veterinary Technician license or certification in Connecticut
• Experience in emergency medicine, critical care, or inpatient nursing (preferred)
• Strong ability to remain calm and focused during high-pressure situations
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Genuine compassion for animals and commitment to quality patient care
• Flexibility and reliability for overnight shift work
