About the Role

This is a full-time over-the-road truck driving position where you'll manage transportation of cargo using dry van trailers across multi-state routes. As an OTR driver with U.S. Xpress, you'll enjoy flexibility in structuring your home time and can choose between solo or team driving arrangements that align with your lifestyle. Compensation is performance-based and scaled to experience.

What You'll Do

• Operate commercial vehicles safely and professionally across multi-state routes
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Comply with federal motor carrier safety regulations and hours-of-service requirements
• Maintain accurate logbooks and transportation documentation
• Deliver cargo on schedule while maintaining cargo integrity
• Communicate with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and vehicle condition

What We're Looking For

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
• Minimum 1–5 months of professional truck driving experience
• Clean driving record and satisfactory background check results
• Ability to pass Department of Transportation medical certification
• Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
• Professional communication and reliability

Compensation & Benefits

U.S. Xpress - OTR compensates drivers competitively based on experience. Solo drivers earn 57–64 cents per mile, with team drivers receiving 72–80 cents per mile (split). Solo drivers typically accumulate approximately 2,000 miles per week, while team configurations average 5,000 miles weekly. Sign-on bonuses are available: $4,000 for solo drivers and $5,000 for team partnerships. Our top-performing solo drivers earn approximately $1,600 per week. You'll also receive flexible home time options that can be customized to your preferences.
