Join Santa Fe South Public Schools as our Middle School Head Girls Basketball Coach in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County. As part of the state's largest brick and mortar charter school district, you'll lead the girls basketball program at our middle school, developing student-athletes through competition, skill-building, and character development.
About the Role
This part-time coaching position offers the opportunity to build and direct a competitive middle school girls basketball program. You'll work closely with the Site Athletic Director and District Athletic Director to implement team strategy, manage player development, and foster athletic excellence aligned with district goals.
What You'll Do
- Lead all aspects of the middle school girls basketball program, including practice planning, game preparation, and team management
- Recruit, develop, and mentor student-athletes of varying skill levels
- Organize and conduct tryouts, practices, and games according to state athletic association regulations
- Maintain team discipline, ensure player eligibility, and enforce athletic code of conduct standards
- Collaborate with the athletic department on scheduling, facility use, and program logistics
- Track player progress, provide constructive feedback, and create opportunities for athletic and personal growth
- Represent the school and district with professionalism at competitions and community events
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a basketball coach or competitive playing background at the high school level or beyond
- Knowledge of basketball fundamentals, game rules, and current coaching best practices
- Ability to motivate and communicate effectively with middle school-aged athletes
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Commitment to athlete safety, wellness, and academic success
- Understanding of and adherence to Oklahoma secondary school athletic regulations
- Valid driver's license for transport of athletes when applicable
