Join UCSF Campus and Health as a full-time Internal Communications Manager and play a key role in keeping our 20,000-person workforce informed, engaged, and aligned with our mission. Based in our North Beach, San Francisco location, you'll develop and execute internal communication strategies that help healthcare professionals and support staff across our system understand organizational priorities, access critical information, and feel connected to our shared purpose in serving Northern California.
About the Role
As Internal Communications Manager, you'll be the voice connecting UCSF Campus and Health leadership with employees across clinical and administrative functions. Your work will ensure that our workforce receives timely, accurate, and meaningful information about organizational changes, initiatives, and achievements.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement comprehensive internal communication strategies that support organizational goals and employee engagement
- Create and distribute employee communications through multiple channels, including newsletters, intranet content, town halls, and digital platforms
- Partner with senior leaders and department heads to craft clear messages on strategic initiatives, policy updates, and campus developments
- Design content that resonates with diverse audiences across clinical, research, and administrative teams
- Measure and analyze the effectiveness of communication campaigns to inform strategy and demonstrate impact
- Build and maintain communication calendars and workflows that ensure consistent, coordinated messaging
- Support employee onboarding and orientation communications to help new team members integrate successfully
What We're Looking For
- Experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or healthcare communications
- Strong writing and editing skills with ability to communicate complex information clearly
- Experience managing multiple communication channels and platforms
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and at all organizational levels
- Project management and organizational skills with ability to prioritize competing demands
- Familiarity with healthcare environments or academic medical centers preferred
- Proficiency with communication tools, content management systems, or digital platforms
