Category Manager Pipe, Valves, & Fittings (PVF)

Boardwalk is seeking a Category Manager for Pipe, Valves, and Fittings (PVF) to join our procurement team in Houston, Harris County. This is a full-time position where you will drive sourcing strategy, supplier performance, and cost optimization for a critical category serving our midstream natural gas and natural gas liquids operations.

About the Role

As Category Manager for Pipe, Valves, and Fittings, you will own end-to-end procurement strategy and execution for PVF inventory across our 14,000-mile pipeline and storage network. You'll work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and finance teams to ensure reliable supply, optimal pricing, and quality performance from our supplier base.

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for pipe, valve, and fitting categories to support our transportation and storage assets
• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with PVF suppliers, balancing cost, quality, delivery, and technical requirements
• Monitor supplier performance, manage relationships, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Analyze market trends, pricing dynamics, and supply chain risks affecting PVF availability and cost
• Collaborate with operations and engineering to understand technical specifications and procurement timelines
• Manage inventory optimization and demand forecasting to support operational needs
• Contribute to process improvements and best practices in procurement and supply chain management

What We're Looking For

• Category management or procurement experience in industrial supply, energy, infrastructure, or related industries
• Strong knowledge of pipe, valves, fittings, or similar industrial components and specifications
• Demonstrated ability to manage supplier relationships and negotiate commercial agreements
• Experience with cost analysis, supply chain optimization, and inventory management
• Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills
• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
