Supervisor Compression Engineering

Boardwalk is seeking an experienced Supervisor of Compression Engineering to lead technical operations at our Owensboro, Daviess County facility. In this full-time role, you'll oversee compression systems, mentor engineering staff, and ensure peak performance across our midstream natural gas and liquids transportation network.

About the Role

As Supervisor of Compression Engineering, you'll manage the day-to-day technical operations of compression equipment while building and developing a high-performing engineering team. This leadership position bridges hands-on technical expertise with supervisory accountability, requiring you to drive reliability, safety, and operational excellence across compressor stations and related infrastructure.

What You'll Do

• Supervise compression engineering personnel and coordinate daily operations at assigned station(s)
• Monitor compressor performance, diagnose equipment issues, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance
• Implement operational best practices to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime
• Conduct safety audits, training, and compliance reviews; enforce all safety protocols and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to optimize system performance
• Review equipment specifications, troubleshoot technical problems, and recommend system improvements
• Maintain detailed operational and maintenance records; prepare performance reports
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians in compression systems, equipment operation, and safety procedures

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in compression engineering or compressor operations within the oil and gas industry
• Demonstrated supervisory or team leadership experience
• Strong technical knowledge of reciprocating and centrifugal compressors, gas turbines, and associated auxiliary equipment
• Proficiency in equipment diagnostics, vibration analysis, and maintenance planning
• Solid understanding of API standards, ASME codes, and industry safety regulations
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively across departments
• Commitment to safety, reliability, and operational integrity
