As a Lab Assistant I or II in Lab Services - Digital Pathology at UTMB Health, you will help keep the clinical laboratory running smoothly by handling specimen processing, organizational, and support duties tied to digital pathology workflows. This is a casual position scheduled for up to 19.99 hours per week, based on-site in West Galveston, Galveston County. It is an open-pooled posting, meaning your education and experience will be reviewed and the offer may be extended at either the Lab Assistant I or Lab Assistant II level as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist laboratory staff with the daily activities of the Clinical Laboratory's digital pathology section
  • Receive, log, label, and prepare specimens for processing and analysis
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure proper handling of laboratory samples
  • Support technical personnel with routine and clerical laboratory tasks
  • Follow established safety, quality, and compliance standards within the lab environment
