About the Role
As a Substitute Bus Monitor (Bus Monitor/Assistant Driver) with Lee County School District, you will assist the driver in transporting special needs students to and from school across the Bishopville, Lee County area. This is a non-exempt, full-time position covering approximately 180 work days, reporting directly to the Director of Transportation. You will focus on keeping every student safe, secure, and comfortable throughout the ride.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome students warmly as they board and depart the bus.
- Help students into their seats and properly fasten seatbelts, harnesses, and other securing equipment.
- Follow established safety procedures and district guidelines while the bus is in operation.
- Support the safe loading and unloading of students at each stop.
- Watch over student behavior and well-being throughout the route.
- Assist the bus driver with daily transportation tasks as needed.
