Youth & Family Practitioner

Newcastle Anglican — Mangerton, Wollongong, Australia Youth and Family Practitioner - Tailored Youth and Family Services Permanent Full Time - Outreach - Islington base.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Professional to join our organisation in the role of Youth & Family Practitioner. This position will provide holistic, strengths-based, person-centred support to young people and their families within a tailored youth and family services environment.

<h2-Core Duties

• Provide mental health support to young people and their families through outreach and in-person sessions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on the needs of each client.
• Collaborate with other professionals, including social workers, psychologists, and educators, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
• Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify mental health needs and progress.
• Provide group therapy sessions and workshops to address various issues faced by young people and their families.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Mental Health or a related field (e.g., Social Work, Psychology).
• SCHADS Award Level 5 up to pay point 5 - $55.85 per hour.
• Proven experience working with young people and their families in a mental health setting.
• A strong understanding of strengths-based and person-centred approaches.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
