About the Role
You'll work as a Youth Advocate providing residential support to LGBTQQ+ youth, serving as a trusted mentor and resource in our community-based programs. Reporting to the Youth Services Manager, you'll deliver direct care and guidance while fostering the leadership, resilience, and self-determination of the young people in your care. This is an in-person, full-time role (40 hours per week) based in San Francisco's SoMa neighborhood.
What You'll Do
- Build supportive relationships with LGBTQQ+ youth, providing consistent advocacy and mentorship in residential and community settings
- Support youth with daily living skills, emotional wellbeing, and navigation of resources and systems
- Facilitate access to services including housing support, health resources, educational opportunities, and employment pathways
- Document progress and maintain accurate records while respecting confidentiality and privacy
- Collaborate with other staff, service partners, and family members to coordinate comprehensive support
- Help create a safe, affirming environment rooted in equity and genuine youth empowerment
