Working Student – Humanoid Robot Development (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential robotics organization seeking a Working Student to support their humanoid development team on-site in Munich for a minimum of six months. You will work alongside mechanical engineers developing high-degree-of-freedom robotic systems across multiple focus areas including gripper development, system identification, control application, and hardware design.

Your day-to-day work will include:

• Creating concepts and prototypes using rapid prototyping methods such as 3D printing
• Developing new or existing prototype iterations toward production-ready designs, including CAD models, technical drawings, and assembly documentation
• Assembling prototypes and robot sub-assemblies in our client's Munich laboratory
• Investigating prototype behavior to assess performance and durability requirements using virtual environments (FEM, MuJoCo) or physical testing systems
• Researching state-of-the-art approaches for relevant technical topics

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a master's program, preferably in mechanical engineering, robotics, or electrical engineering
• CAD design experience, preferably with SolidWorks
• Strong engineering knowledge of design principles
• Hands-on experience with complex systems and DIY projects
• Ability to work autonomously on open-ended, evolving tasks
• Self-motivated, reliable, and solution-oriented mindset
• Fluent English; German or Chinese language skills are beneficial
• Genuine enthusiasm for problem-solving

Beneficial experience:

• Practical workshop skills such as 3D printing and drill press operation
• Previous work experience in relevant technical fields
