Wastewater Operator

Aerotek is hiring a Wastewater Operator to join our team in Border Hill, Chaves County. This full-time position plays a vital role in maintaining essential water treatment infrastructure that serves the community.

About the Role

As a Wastewater Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring, operating, and maintaining wastewater treatment systems and equipment at a pretreatment facility. Working independently, you'll ensure all processes run smoothly while meeting or exceeding state and federal environmental standards. This role requires a solid understanding of pretreatment operations, laboratory testing protocols, and equipment maintenance.

What You'll Do

• Perform and document routine tests and analyses on wastewater samples in accordance with state, federal, and local regulatory requirements
• Operate and maintain treatment equipment, including pumps, aerators, clarifiers, and other specialized machinery
• Monitor water quality parameters and adjust treatment processes to maintain compliance
• Collect and analyze samples using laboratory methods and chemical testing procedures
• Maintain detailed operational logs and keep accurate records of all activities and results
• Conduct preventative maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise
• Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations in daily operations

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED
• Wastewater operator certification or willingness to obtain one
• Working knowledge of laboratory testing methods and basic water chemistry
• Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities effectively
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with industrial equipment operation
• Strong attention to detail and solid record-keeping skills
• Dedication to safety standards and regulatory compliance
