Heavy Equipment Operator

Aerotek is hiring a mid-level Heavy Equipment Operator to join our civil construction team in Reno, Washoe County. This is a full-time traveling position for candidates open to working on projects across multiple states.

About the Role

As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you'll be a key member of our civil construction crew, operating excavators and managing mid-level heavy equipment on large-scale commercial projects. Your focus will be on earthmoving and mass grading work across standard terrain environments, where precision and efficiency directly impact project timelines and outcomes.

What You'll Do

• Operate excavators and other mid-level heavy equipment on commercial earthmoving and mass grading projects
• Manage equipment positioning and movement across project sites to meet project specifications
• Maintain equipment in safe, working condition and perform routine maintenance checks
• Coordinate with crew members and supervisors to ensure work aligns with project plans
• Work on large commercial projects requiring precision earth terrain management
• Adapt to job site conditions and follow all safety protocols and OSHA standards

What We're Looking For

• Mid-level experience operating excavators and heavy equipment in commercial construction
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel between job sites across multiple states
• Willingness to relocate temporarily for project assignments
• Strong understanding of equipment operation, safety procedures, and site coordination
• Ability to work full-time and adapt to project schedules
• Mechanical aptitude and attention to equipment maintenance
