VP of Finance

Juno, a marketplace transforming student debt resolution through collective negotiation, is hiring a full-time VP of Finance for a remote or hybrid position based in Miami, FL. Lead the complete financial operation of a fast-growing fintech startup where you'll partner directly with founders and drive decisions that meaningfully impact the business.

Position Summary

This is a hands-on senior finance leadership role that reports to the founders. You'll be both strategist and practitioner—designing the financial infrastructure and analytical frameworks that guide decision-making, then executing them operationally. The finance function doesn't yet exist in its mature form; you'll build it from the ground up. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in entrepreneurial environments where ownership, speed, and measurable impact are prized over established hierarchies and inherited processes.

What You'll Do

• Establish financial strategy and forecasting—develop financial models, guide budgeting cycles, and deliver clear insights into unit economics and growth trajectory to leadership.
• Manage financial operations end-to-end—direct month-end closing, cash flow management, accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and audit preparation.
• Partner with founders on critical questions—translate complex business challenges into rigorous financial analysis, validate strategy with data, and support resource allocation decisions.
• Lead capital and stakeholder relations—support fundraising initiatives, maintain investor-ready financial reporting, and manage board communications.
• Ensure compliance and financial integrity—maintain regulatory readiness in the financial services space while building risk management frameworks.
• Scale the finance organization—design systems, processes, and controls that enable finance to support rapid business growth.

What We're Looking For

• Proven track record in senior finance leadership (VP Finance, Controller, or equivalent) at a startup or high-growth company.
• Hands-on execution—you excel at both strategic planning and operational finance work; equally comfortable building complex models and closing the books yourself.
• Technical fluency in modern finance tools—expertise with SaaS accounting platforms, financial planning and analysis software, billing systems, and business intelligence solutions; comfort collaborating with technical teams.
• Pragmatic approach to AI—you integrate AI tools into workflows to increase productivity and actively explore automation opportunities in finance processes.
• Strong judgment and self-direction—you produce excellent work independently with minimal oversight in dynamic environments.
• Background in fintech, customer acquisition, lending, or financial services is a significant advantage.
