About the Role
This is a full-time OTR opportunity for company drivers who hold a valid CDL-A and have between one and five months of verifiable driving experience. As part of the U.S. Xpress - OTR team in Smyrna, Rutherford County, you'll haul dry van freight across long-haul lanes while choosing home time options that fit your schedule. Both solo and team driving paths are available.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a tractor-trailer hauling dry van freight on over-the-road routes
- Average roughly 2,000 miles per week as a solo driver, or up to 5,000 miles weekly as part of a team
- Complete deliveries on schedule while following all DOT regulations and safety standards
- Maintain accurate logs and conduct required pre- and post-trip inspections
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
- 1 to 5 months of recent verifiable driving experience
- Willingness to run OTR with flexible home-time arrangements
- Commitment to safe, compliant operation of dry van equipment
Pay & Earning Potential
- Higher mileage pay of 57–64 CPM, set according to your experience level
- $4,000 sign-on bonus for solo drivers
- Top 20% of OTR drivers average $1,600 weekly
- Team drivers earn a split of $0.72–$0.80 CPM with a $5,000 sign-on bonus
