Physicians in this role provide exceptional care for patients with advanced liver disease and those undergoing liver transplantation, working as part of one of the nation's highest-volume transplant centers. You'll collaborate closely with transplant surgery, contribute to clinical innovation, and participate in academic advancement through research and mentorship.
About the Role
As a Transplant Hepatology Physician, you will:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with complex and advanced liver disease
- Provide consultations and specialized hepatology care to transplant candidates and post-transplant recipients
- Work collaboratively with transplant surgeons and the multidisciplinary transplant team to optimize patient outcomes
- Participate in pre-transplant evaluation, optimization, and post-transplant follow-up care
- Contribute to clinical research, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice advancement
- Mentor trainees and support the academic mission of the program
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- MD or DO degree with board certification or board eligibility in Hepatology
- Strong clinical expertise in managing complex liver disease
- Experience or willingness to develop expertise in transplant hepatology
- Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence, research, and academic collaboration
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Licensed to practice medicine in Florida
