About This Position

As Site Construction Manager 1, you'll manage day-to-day operations on a substation construction project, reporting to senior project leadership and serving as the primary on-site authority. This role combines hands-on field presence with supervisory responsibility, requiring you to balance scheduling, safety, quality, and team coordination across a complex, fast-moving construction environment. You'll work directly with crews, vendors, and design partners to keep the project on track and within specifications.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Oversee field activities and progress tracking to maintain schedules and milestones
• Supervise construction crews, monitor productivity, and ensure compliance with all safety protocols
• Coordinate material deliveries, equipment staging, and resource allocation on site
• Conduct daily inspections and quality assurance checks against construction documents
• Document field conditions, changes, and issues; communicate status to project management
• Address safety concerns immediately and enforce zero-tolerance standards for substation work
• Collaborate with electrical, civil, and mechanical teams to resolve conflicts and keep workflow seamless

Who We're Looking For

• 3+ years of construction management or on-site supervisory experience in heavy civil or electrical infrastructure
• Hands-on knowledge of substation construction, transmission/distribution systems, or similar projects
• Proven leadership and crew management capability
• Strong understanding of construction safety, OSHA standards, and regulatory compliance
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with design teams and contractors
• Problem-solving mindset and willingness to adapt to field conditions and unexpected challenges
• Valid driver's license and ability to work full-time on site
