About the Role
Anne Arundel County Public Schools is recruiting Temporary Support Assistants to fill positions as they become available at school locations throughout the district. This full-time role places you directly in the classroom, supporting both instructional and behavioral aspects of student success in Millersville, Anne Arundel County.
What You'll Do
- Assist teachers with classroom management and student supervision throughout the school day
- Support students' physical, emotional, behavioral, and instructional needs under teacher direction
- Help facilitate instructional activities and learning experiences designed by classroom teachers
- Assist with student transitions between activities, routines, and special programs
- Support the implementation of behavioral strategies and positive student interactions
- Help prepare classroom materials, resources, and learning spaces
- Communicate regularly with teachers about student progress and development
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and welcoming classroom environment
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Genuine interest in working with and supporting students
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with teachers and school staff
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliability, punctuality, and a professional attitude
- Physical capability to assist and support students as needed
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
