Team Lead Analytics & Risk (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential energy technology organization that is at the forefront of emission-free solutions in European power markets. Our client operates sophisticated algorithmic trading systems for battery storage, EV fleets, and renewable generation assets. This is a unique opportunity to lead the analytics function that directly drives trading profitability through superior market intelligence and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Own price and generation forecasting across markets, maintaining consistency between short-term and long-term views
• Develop and implement analytical models and forecasting tools for electricity and renewable energy markets
• Deliver data-driven insights and trading signals that feed directly into automated bidding and pricing systems
• Assess market trends, regulatory developments, and new market opportunities quantitatively to guide strategic decisions
• Lead and develop a team of 5-7 analysts and data scientists, providing technical guidance and personal coaching
• Own the complete risk framework including limit systems, position monitoring, scenario analysis, stress-testing methodology, and risk reporting
• Build cross-functional bridges with trading desk, portfolio management, pricing, sales, and product teams
• Create reports, monitoring dashboards, and benchmarks that drive actionable insights for trading operations and senior leadership

What We're Looking For

• Several years of experience in quantitative analysis on European power markets, specifically in forecasting, fundamental modeling, or risk management
• Solid understanding of day-ahead, intraday, ancillary services, capacity, and local flexibility markets, including price formation mechanics
• Proven experience in technical leadership or clear progression toward people management, with ability to motivate and develop talent
• Strong capability to translate complex quantitative findings into clear recommendations for executive decision-making
• Business-fluent English required; German language skills are a strong plus
• Located in or willing to relocate to München, Germany
