About the Role
You will lead a classroom of students through engaging, standards-aligned instruction while simultaneously directing and building a successful tennis program. This dual role allows you to make meaningful impact across multiple areas of student growth and development.
What You'll Do
- Design and deliver instruction in your assigned core academic subject area, creating learning activities that challenge students and support their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development
- Establish a positive, inclusive classroom environment that fosters student engagement and academic success
- Assess student progress through varied assessment methods, provide constructive feedback, and adjust instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff to address student needs and ensure equitable access to quality education
- Direct and manage the school's tennis athletic program with professionalism and integrity
- Coach student-athletes in skill development, competitive strategy, and sportsmanship while maintaining high academic and behavioral standards
- Lead team building, organize competitions, and develop athletes' technical abilities and mental resilience
- Maintain compliance with UIL and district athletic policies and safety protocols
What We're Looking For
- Valid Texas teaching certification in your subject area or eligible to obtain certification
- Demonstrated expertise in your academic discipline and commitment to student-centered instruction
- Proven experience coaching competitive tennis or equivalent team sport experience
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage classroom expectations and motivate diverse student populations
- Passion for developing the whole student—academically, athletically, and personally
