About the Role
As an early childhood special education teacher, you'll design and implement inclusive, developmentally appropriate learning experiences tailored to each child's unique strengths and needs. You'll work with students across the birth-to-second-grade span, collaborating with specialists, administrators, and families to create an environment where every child thrives academically, socially, and emotionally. This role is based at The Colwyck Center and requires a commitment to evidence-based teaching practices and ongoing professional growth.
What You'll Do
- Develop and deliver differentiated instruction aligned with IEPs and early learning standards
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction to meet individual learning goals
- Foster inclusive classroom environments where all learners feel valued and supported
- Build authentic partnerships with families, sharing progress and collaborating on home-based learning strategies
- Integrate social-emotional learning and behavior supports into daily routines
- Communicate effectively with special education teams, related service providers, and school leadership
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with special education requirements
What We're Looking For
- Valid state teaching certification in early childhood special education or related field
- Strong knowledge of early childhood development and evidence-based intervention strategies
- Demonstrated ability to create welcoming, inclusive learning environments
- Excellent communication skills and genuine commitment to family partnerships
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
- Passion for supporting young learners with diverse abilities and learning styles
