Tax Manager, Internal Tax Team – Strategy and Planning

Deloitte is hiring a Tax Manager for our Strategy and Planning team in Tysons Corner, Fairfax County. This is a full-time position where you'll lead tax research and analysis on major corporate transactions that shape how Deloitte structures its business.

About the Role

Within our US Firms Tax group, you'll serve as a trusted tax strategist for firm leadership, evaluating complex transactions and legislative developments to guide decision-making. Your insights on tax structuring, compliance, and planning will directly influence how we execute acquisitions, divestitures, and internal reorganizations. You'll be the bridge between tax expertise and executive strategy.

What You'll Do

• Conduct comprehensive tax research and analysis on significant corporate transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, and structural reorganizations
• Monitor evolving federal, state, and local tax legislation and regulations; assess implications for firm entities and partner interests
• Evaluate tax scenarios and develop strategic recommendations for major business initiatives
• Collaborate with executive leadership, finance, and legal teams to integrate tax strategy into business planning
• Build analytical frameworks and documentation standards that strengthen the firm's tax planning capabilities
• Contribute to tax thought leadership and maintain expertise in evolving regulatory landscape

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated expertise in federal and multi-state tax law, transaction taxation, and tax strategy
• Experience with M&A tax analysis, tax-efficient structuring, and corporate reorganization planning
• Strong research capability: ability to analyze complex tax issues and communicate clearly to senior business leaders
• Background in professional services, corporate tax, or Big 4 consulting environment
• CPA or equivalent professional tax credential
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities
• Collaborative mindset and strong communication abilities
