About the Role

As Tax Manager of Indirect Tax and Property Tax, you'll drive client engagement and technical delivery on complex property tax valuations, assessments, and compliance strategies. You'll combine strategic advisory with hands-on project leadership, mentoring junior team members while building long-term client relationships across Texas and beyond. This role sits at the intersection of advisory depth and business development, requiring both technical mastery and client-facing confidence.

What You'll Do

• Manage end-to-end property tax planning and compliance projects, including valuation support, assessment appeals, and exemption strategies
• Advise clients on indirect tax issues including sales tax, use tax, and multi-jurisdictional compliance
• Lead teams in technical research, analysis, and deliverable development for mid-market and enterprise clients
• Develop proactive tax strategies to minimize client exposure and optimize tax positions
• Build and maintain client relationships through clear communication and strategic counsel
• Stay current with property tax law, regulatory changes, and audit defense best practices
• Contribute to practice development and pursue new client opportunities within your markets

What We're Looking For

• CPA or Master's degree in accounting, taxation, or related field; advanced tax credential (CPA, EA, or equivalent) required
• 5+ years of professional experience in indirect tax, property tax, or multi-jurisdictional tax services
• Strong technical knowledge of property valuation methodologies, assessment processes, and appeal procedures
• Demonstrated ability to manage teams and mentor professionals at multiple levels
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax audiences
• Proficiency with tax research tools and accounting software; advanced Excel skills expected
• Client-facing experience and a track record of building strong professional relationships
