Tax Manager – Indirect Tax – Property Tax

EY is hiring a Tax Manager specializing in Indirect Tax and Property Tax for our Seattle, Washington location. In this full-time role, you'll combine technical tax expertise with strategic advisory work, leading complex property tax engagements for EY's diverse client base.

Position Summary

As a Tax Manager in our Indirect Tax practice, you'll take on a leadership role managing property tax strategies, compliance matters, and client advisory work. You'll influence outcomes on complex tax issues spanning property valuations, assessment challenges, exemptions, and multi-jurisdictional taxation. This position offers the opportunity to shape comprehensive tax solutions while building your reputation as a trusted advisor in the property tax and indirect tax space. You'll balance technical depth with relationship management, contributing to both client success and team growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct property tax engagements including valuations, exemption applications, assessment disputes, and compliance matters
• Develop and execute indirect tax strategies aligned with client business objectives and risk profiles
• Deliver strategic advisory services to clients navigating property tax planning, compliance, and dispute resolution
• Manage client relationships, coordinate deliverables across functional teams, and communicate complex tax findings to stakeholders
• Mentor and develop junior staff members, fostering capability and professional growth
• Maintain current knowledge of evolving tax legislation, court decisions, and regulatory guidance affecting property and indirect taxes

Who We're Looking For

• Substantial background in indirect tax, property tax, or closely related tax practices
• Proven experience managing sophisticated tax matters and leading client engagements
• Professional tax credentials such as CPA, EA, or equivalent qualification
• Strong analytical, written communication, and presentation abilities
• Capability to manage workstreams independently and lead cross-functional project teams
• Familiarity with tax accounting systems, research platforms, and modeling tools
