Tanker Operator – CDL Driver – Commerce, GA

Smyrna Ready Mix, LLC is hiring a full-time Tanker Operator with a Class A CDL to transport cement safely and reliably from supplier terminals to our concrete production facilities in Commerce, Jackson County, Georgia.

About the Role

As a Tanker Operator at Smyrna Ready Mix, you'll be the critical link in our supply chain—moving specialized cargo that keeps our concrete plants operating at peak capacity. This is a full-time position for a professional driver committed to safety, punctuality, and maintaining the high standards that our customers depend on.

What You'll Do

• Operate a tanker truck to transport cement and related materials between supplier terminals and our production facilities in the Commerce area
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe, roadworthy equipment
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, fuel records, and documentation for compliance
• Navigate routes efficiently while adhering to weight regulations, traffic laws, and company safety protocols
• Communicate with dispatch and plant staff to coordinate timely deliveries
• Perform basic equipment maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly
• Handle specialized tanker procedures including cargo management and tank care

What We're Looking For

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean, safe driving record
• Demonstrated experience operating tanker trucks or hauling specialized cargo
• Strong commitment to safety practices and regulatory compliance
• Reliability and punctuality—showing up ready to work, every shift
• Professional communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately
• Physical ability to perform duties including inspections and minor maintenance
