Smyrna Ready Mix, LLC is hiring full-time Mixer Operators in Fairmount, Vermilion County. If you hold a valid CDL and have a track record of safe, reliable driving combined with excellent customer service skills, we want you on our team delivering ready mix concrete across the region.

About the Role

As a Mixer Operator at Smyrna Ready Mix, LLC, you'll operate state-of-the-art ready mix concrete trucks, ensuring every delivery meets our customers' exacting standards for quality and timing. You'll be the face of our company on job sites throughout Fairmount and surrounding areas, managing both the mechanical systems of your truck and the relationships with construction crews and general contractors. This is hands-on, safety-critical work that demands precision, accountability, and a professional approach every single day.

What You'll Do

• Operate ready mix concrete mixer trucks with proper load management and on-site discharge techniques
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure equipment safety and compliance
• Navigate delivery routes efficiently, arriving on time and managing wait times professionally
• Communicate with dispatchers, job foremen, and construction teams to coordinate deliveries and troubleshoot site-specific challenges
• Maintain accurate logs and delivery documentation as required by DOT regulations
• Keep your truck clean and perform routine maintenance tasks to keep equipment operational
• Follow all safety protocols and federal/state transportation regulations without exception

What We're Looking For

• Valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A or Class B CDL) with a clean driving record
• Proven experience operating ready mix concrete trucks, mixer trucks, or similar commercial vehicles
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues on the job
• Excellent customer service orientation and professional communication skills
• Reliability and punctuality—you show up consistently and on time
• Physical capability to handle the demands of loading, unloading, and truck operations
• Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with all applicable regulations
