About the Role
As Assistant Director, you will serve as a strategic partner in the day-to-day operations of our Fraternity and Sorority Life office. You'll develop comprehensive program frameworks, establish chapter governance standards, and oversee the execution of initiatives that strengthen organizational health across all recognized chapters. This position carries significant responsibility for translating departmental vision into actionable programs and policies that guide chapter leaders and support their growth.
What You'll Do
- Lead fraternity and sorority chapter advising, offering mentorship and professional guidance to student officers and members
- Design, implement, and assess educational programming focused on leadership development, risk awareness, and community impact
- Establish and enforce chapter governance policies that promote accountability, compliance, and organizational excellence
- Coordinate recruitment cycles, new member education, and community integration initiatives
- Collaborate with University partners to ensure chapters uphold institutional values and student conduct standards
- Build relationships with chapter alumni advisors and national organization liaisons
- Contribute to strategic planning and departmental operations on an ongoing basis
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree required; experience in student affairs, higher education, or related field preferred
- Knowledge of fraternity and sorority culture, governance structures, and national organization dynamics
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Experience facilitating group discussions and delivering educational programming
