SUP – School Spirit Sponsor- Color Guard | Flags

Join Adams County School District 14 as a School Spirit Sponsor specializing in Color Guard and Flags at Adams City High School. This one-year supplemental appointment invites you to lead and mentor a student color guard and flags team, building school spirit through coordinated performances at athletic events, competitions, and community celebrations.

About the Role

As the Color Guard and Flags Sponsor, you'll direct a dynamic student ensemble representing the school at football games, basketball games, pep rallies, parades, and competitive events. Reporting directly to the principal, you'll develop student technique, choreograph performances, and foster the discipline and teamwork required to execute synchronized flag movements that enhance school traditions and pride.

What You'll Do

• Conduct regular practice sessions teaching color guard and flag performance techniques to student participants
• Design choreography and organize routines aligned with school events, competitions, and seasonal athletic schedules
• Coach student performers to develop technical proficiency, confidence, and collaborative spirit
• Maintain and inventory flags, equipment, uniforms, and other program materials
• Coordinate and execute performances at school events and community celebrations throughout the year
• Monitor student attendance, progress tracking, and performance participation
• Collaborate with marching band directors, athletics staff, and other school sponsors to integrate performances into school activities
• Cultivate school spirit and traditions that strengthen student engagement and community connection

What We're Looking For

• Hands-on experience with color guard, flags, or comparable precision performance activities
• Solid understanding of flag technique, movement vocabulary, and choreographic principles
• Experience working with high school students or managing a student-led activity program
• Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills
• Ability to motivate and inspire young performers
• Willingness to attend evening and weekend performances and competitions
