Store Designer, Worldwide Grocery Real Estate

Amazon's Worldwide Grocery Real Estate organization is seeking a full-time Store Designer to work remotely and help shape the future of retail grocery environments. Our Seattle-based Retail Growth & Development team values creative problem-solvers who can innovate through collaborative design and strategic partnership.

About the Role

As Store Designer for Amazon's Worldwide Grocery operations, you'll conceptualize and refine physical retail environments that drive customer engagement and operational efficiency. Working within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial business unit, you'll take ownership of design initiatives from concept through implementation, translating strategic retail objectives into compelling, functional spaces.

What You'll Do

• Design grocery and specialty food retail environments that balance customer experience with merchandising effectiveness
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams—merchandising, operations, construction, and real estate—to develop cohesive store concepts
• Conduct market analysis and site assessments to inform design direction and site-specific customization
• Create design documentation, including layouts, renderings, and specifications for store buildouts and renovations
• Manage design timelines and budgets while adapting to business priorities and constraints
• Support store openings and rollout planning across multiple locations and markets

What We're Looking For

• Experience in retail, grocery, or commercial real estate design (or equivalent creative design discipline)
• Proficiency with design tools and software (CAD, design visualization, rendering tools)
• Strong spatial reasoning and ability to translate vision into practical, buildable designs
• Comfort navigating ambiguity in a rapidly evolving business environment
• Excellent communication skills and proven ability to influence across teams
• Entrepreneurial mindset with willingness to wear multiple hats and drive initiatives independently
• Attention to detail, customer focus, and commitment to operational excellence
