About the Role

As a Special Education Teacher with ProCare Therapy in Hancock, you'll work directly with students in grades 5 through 8 who require specialized instruction and support. What You'll Do

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that align with student goals and district standards
• Deliver specialized, evidence-based instruction tailored to student strengths and learning needs
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies based on data and observations
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure inclusive classroom practices
• Maintain detailed records of student achievement, attendance, and behavioral progress
• Communicate regularly with families about student progress, goals, and areas of growth
• Support positive classroom environments through behavior management and social-emotional learning

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Special Education
• Active Maine Special Education Teacher license
• A minimum of 1 year of classroom experience as a Special Education Teacher
• Strong knowledge of IEP development and special education law
• Excellent communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
• Commitment to differentiated instruction and student-centered learning approaches
