About the Role

As a Special Education Teacher serving students in and around Canton, you'll lead instruction tailored to each learner's unique strengths and challenges. You'll implement individualized education plans (IEPs), track measurable progress, and collaborate with general education staff, families, and support specialists to ensure every student receives the comprehensive, inclusive education they deserve.

What You'll Do

• Plan and deliver specialized instruction based on IEP goals and student learning profiles
• Support students with autism spectrum needs and other disabilities across academic, social, and life skill domains
• Develop and adapt curriculum materials to meet diverse cognitive and developmental levels
• Collect and analyze student performance data to inform instruction and communicate progress to families and the team
• Build partnerships with general education teachers, related service providers, and family members to coordinate consistent support
• Create structured, positive classroom routines that support behavior, engagement, and inclusion
• Use evidence-based strategies in reading, math, communication, and functional skills instruction

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Special Education
• Current, active Special Education Teacher license or certification for your state
• Minimum of one year of professional experience teaching special education
• Demonstrated skill working with students with autism, intellectual disabilities, or multiple disabilities
• Strong communication abilities and willingness to partner with families and colleagues
• Ability to adapt instruction, stay organized, and manage a dynamic classroom environment
