Software Engineer, Treasury

Lithic is hiring a Software Engineer, Treasury to join our fully remote engineering team and help build the systems that move money safely between Lithic and the financial institutions we partner with. This is a full-time role open at multiple levels (II, Senior, and Staff).

About the Role

On Lithic's Treasury team, you'll engineer the mission-critical backend services that orchestrate how funds flow between Lithic and external financial institutions. The work spans our core ledger, ACH and wire infrastructure, and the high-precision reconciliation systems that keep everything accurate. Because real money is in motion, reliability and correctness are non-negotiable. The team works with a high degree of autonomy—you'll have genuine ownership over what gets built and the technical direction we take. Prior fintech experience isn't required; you'll develop deep expertise in the global payments ecosystem while working in a modern, cloud-native stack built primarily on Python and AWS (DynamoDB, Kinesis, Lambda, Step Functions, and more).

Key Responsibilities

• Drive initiatives end to end—from planning through launch—keeping stakeholders aligned while holding a high quality bar.
• Build a thorough mental model of the Treasury domain and how money moves, with support from the team along the way.
• Strengthen system resilience and safeguard the reliability and correctness of Lithic's ledger and orchestrated funds flows.
• (Senior/Staff) Set architectural direction, tackle our hardest technical problems, and ensure our infrastructure scales gracefully as we grow.

Qualifications

• Genuine business and technical curiosity—you dig into a system until you understand root causes and their impact on the wider financial ecosystem.
• A structured, growth-oriented approach to learning complex systems.
• High agency and a sense of urgency; you thrive when handed a problem space rather than a checklist.
• (Senior/Staff) Experience designing and scaling distributed systems where reliability and correctness are foundational.
