Social Worker – Schools (Leave of Absence)

Amergis is hiring a full-time School Social Worker for our Wasco, Kane County location to fill a leave of absence position. In this role, you'll deliver clinical support and intervention services to students in the school setting while partnering with educators and administrators to support academic and behavioral success.

About the Role

As a School Social Worker, you'll provide direct assessment, counseling, and behavioral intervention services within the school environment. Working alongside teachers, counselors, administrators, and support staff, you'll help identify student needs and develop tailored education and health plans. Your expertise will ensure students receive the resources and support necessary to thrive both academically and socially.

What You'll Do

• Assess student needs and partner with school teams to identify intervention opportunities
• Develop and contribute to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and health plans based on student circumstances
• Provide direct counseling, crisis support, and behavioral intervention services
• Connect families with community resources and external support services
• Maintain confidential records and communicate progress with the broader school team
• Advocate for students' overall wellbeing and successful school engagement

What We're Looking For

• Professional Educator License with School Social Worker (SSW) endorsement, as required by state and employment contract
• Master of Social Work (MSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification as required or specified by facility and state regulations
• Experience conducting social work assessments and developing intervention plans
• Ability to establish rapport and trust with students, families, and school personnel from various backgrounds
• Strong commitment to professional ethics, confidentiality, and student-centered practice
