About the Role

As a Travel Respiratory Therapist with Fusion Medical Staffing, you'll provide direct patient respiratory care in a clinical facility environment throughout your assignment in Des Moines, Polk County. This temporary position offers the ability to build your clinical experience, expand your professional network, and work with diverse patient populations while maintaining the schedule and compensation structure that travel healthcare demands.

What You'll Do

• Assess and manage patient respiratory conditions, including airway management and ventilator care
• Operate and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment and monitoring systems
• Collect blood gas samples and interpret test results
• Assist physicians and nurses with respiratory care procedures and treatments
• Monitor and document patient vital signs, oxygen saturation, and response to therapy
• Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and treatment plans
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Adhere to all regulatory requirements and facility protocols

What We're Looking For

• Current RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) certification; CRT acceptable depending on facility requirements
• Active state licensure in Iowa or compact state license
• Minimum one to two years of clinical respiratory therapy experience
• Proficiency with ventilator management and acute care settings
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and facility cultures
