Intervention Specialist – Direct Placement

Amergis is placing a full-time Intervention Specialist in Grandview Heights, Franklin County to deliver specialized educational services to students in kindergarten through grade 12 within a special education setting.

About the Role

Working under the guidance of the Special Education Program Administrator, this Intervention Specialist - Direct Placement position is central to shaping meaningful learning experiences for students with diverse needs. You will collaborate across disciplines to design, deliver, and refine individualized programs that help every student reach their potential.

What You'll Do

• Provide specially designed instruction to K–12 students receiving special education services
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with IDEA and Ohio state guidelines
• Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings to plan and adjust student programming
• Deliver targeted tutorial support and academic intervention aligned to each student's goals
• Consult and co-plan with general education teachers to support inclusion and least restrictive environment practices
• Track student progress through ongoing data collection and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
• Maintain clear, timely communication with families, administrators, and support staff regarding student development
• Ensure a structured, supportive classroom environment that promotes engagement and positive behavior

What We're Looking For

• Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist license or equivalent state special education teaching credential
• Experience working with students with disabilities across the K–12 continuum
• Demonstrated ability to write and implement compliant IEPs
• Strong collaboration skills for working alongside general education staff and related service providers
• Familiarity with evidence-based intervention strategies and progress-monitoring tools
• Commitment to inclusive education practices and student-centered programming
