Site Project Controls Specialist (Solar)

The MasTec Companies seeks a Site Project Controls Specialist to join our utility-scale solar construction operations in Williams Creek, Marion County. In this full-time, on-site position, you'll manage project controls and schedules that directly influence the success, safety, and profitability of major renewable energy infrastructure across North America.

About the Role

As a Project Controls Specialist embedded at our solar construction sites, you'll be the operational hub connecting field teams, management, and stakeholders. This role demands precision, accountability, and a deep understanding of how schedule decisions, resource allocation, and risk mitigation shape project delivery. You'll work in a fast-paced environment where your analytical insights and proactive problem-solving are essential to keeping utility-scale solar projects on track and on budget.

What You'll Do

• Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive project schedules and control systems for active solar construction sites
• Monitor schedule performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions to site leadership
• Coordinate with construction crews, engineers, and subcontractors to track progress and resolve bottlenecks
• Prepare accurate reports on project status, budget performance, and milestone achievement for internal and external stakeholders
• Support cost and resource forecasting based on actual field conditions and evolving project scope
• Champion safety, quality, and environmental compliance as core elements of project controls
• Document lessons learned and process improvements to enhance future project delivery

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in project controls, scheduling, or project management in construction or energy sectors
• Proficiency with scheduling software and data analysis tools
• Strong attention to detail and ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable insights
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfort presenting findings to diverse audiences
• Problem-solving mindset and willingness to work collaboratively in field-based environments
• Familiarity with renewable energy, solar construction, or large infrastructure projects is advantageous
