Senior QA Automation Engineer (Platform)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a well-funded fintech organization in their search for a Senior QA Automation Engineer (Platform). This is a unique infrastructure-focused role—you'll be building test automation frameworks, tooling, and agentic solutions that empower product engineering teams across the company. This is not traditional product QA; it's a platform engineering position where you design, ship, and own production services.

This is a fully remote position open to candidates based in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Design and own automation frameworks for functional and performance testing
• Build agents to automate existing QA and testing workflows, reducing friction for engineering teams
• Develop applications and services that support automation infrastructure; deploy and operate them in production environments
• Take prototypes from concept to hardened production: build demos quickly, gather feedback from internal teams, and iterate until solutions are monitored, reliable, and widely adopted
• Identify gaps in existing frameworks and tooling; drive solutions that close them
• Work closely with product teams to understand automation requirements and deliver services from scratch

What We're Looking For

• 5–7+ years building production software with demonstrated depth in test infrastructure, test frameworks, and developer tooling
• Working knowledge of platform engineering principles
• Proven track record building agentic solutions and test automation frameworks from the ground up—designed, shipped, iterated, and adopted by engineering teams
• Fluency with agentic coding tools as part of your daily workflow; ability to orchestrate multiple agents and review agent-generated pull requests
• Hands-on experience with microservices architectures, Kubernetes, and managing deployment lifecycles
• Ability to take ambiguous problem statements and independently scope defensible, practical solutions
• Proficiency with core technologies including: Java, Python, Kubernetes, Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, TestNG, Maven, Git, Jenkins, ArgoCD, SQL, Grafana, Docker, Gatling, and modern LLM-based coding assistants
