Senior Medical Writer – Knutsford

Prime is seeking a Senior Medical Writer to join our team in Knutsford, England. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity to develop and lead medical writing projects in a dynamic, professional environment.

About the Role

As Senior Medical Writer at Prime in Knutsford, you will take a leadership role in creating, developing, and refining high-quality medical and scientific documents. You'll work across diverse therapeutic areas, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to produce regulatory submissions, clinical abstracts, manuscripts, and other critical communications. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring compliance with industry standards whilst maintaining the highest standards of scientific accuracy and clarity.

Key Responsibilities

• Author and review medical writing deliverables including regulatory documentation, clinical study reports, and scientific publications
• Lead medical writing projects from conception through delivery, managing timelines and quality assurance
• Collaborate with clinical, regulatory, and commercial teams to translate complex scientific data into clear, compelling narratives
• Ensure all documents meet regulatory requirements and organisational standards
• Mentor and support junior medical writing staff, providing feedback and guidance on writing quality and style
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of medical writing best practices, guidelines, and regulatory developments
• Conduct research and synthesise scientific literature to inform writing projects

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a medical writer, ideally in a senior or lead capacity
• Strong background in life sciences, clinical research, pharmacy, or related healthcare discipline
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to simplify complex scientific concepts
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and documentation requirements (ICH-GCP, regulatory pathways)
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines
• Attention to detail and commitment to scientific accuracy and compliance
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
