Senior Meat Cutter

About the Role

As our Senior Meat Cutter, you play a vital role in the success of Walmart's meat department. You'll combine skilled craftsmanship with customer service excellence, ensuring every product meets our high standards for quality and freshness. Working in a fast-paced retail environment, you'll manage daily operations while helping your team succeed and supporting the store's overall performance.

What You'll Do

• Cut, trim, and package meat products with precision to meet company standards and customer preferences
• Maintain strict food safety and sanitation protocols throughout the department
• Mentor and train other meat department associates on cutting techniques, safety procedures, and customer service
• Assist customers with product selection, preparation advice, and special orders
• Monitor inventory levels and help coordinate stock rotation to ensure product freshness
• Support sales initiatives and promotional activities within the meat department
• Operate department equipment safely and maintain a clean, organized workspace
• Collaborate with store leadership and other departments to meet customer needs

What We're Looking For

• Prior experience as a meat cutter or in a similar food preparation role
• Proficiency with meat cutting tools, saws, and slicing equipment
• Strong understanding of food safety regulations and HACCP practices
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and stand for extended periods
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Leadership experience or demonstrated ability to mentor team members
• Detail-oriented approach to product quality and presentation
